Mrs. Marian Maloney Retires
On Friday 20th of June we said a fond farewell to our Principal Marian Maloney. We enjoyed a great celebration of her career as principal here in Scoil Íosa for the past thirteen years. The day began with a mass of thanksgiving for her career of thirty nine years as a teacher. There were presentations from The Board of Management, The Parents Association and The Staff. A special word of thanks to Fr. Michael Quinn for a lovely mass and also to Fr. Joe Caulfield, Fr. Johnson and Fr. Murphy for concelebrating the mass. The children brought up gifts to represent
Marians love of baking, music, her faith, drama, her family and nature. They also sang beautifully accompanied by Mrs Hickey and Siobhan Maloney, Marian's daughter.
We were delighted that Marian's family Jimmy, Katie, Seamus and Siobhan and many of her dear friends and colleagues were able to celebrate the day with her. Many thanks to all the parents and past parents, pupils and the wider community who also made the day so memorable. Following the mass a lovely buffet was held in the school for all present.
We wish Marian a very happy and healthy retirement, and every blessing and good fortune in her future.
