Snow Child

On Friday 23rd of October Mrs Gillespie's class, Junior infants, Senior infants and First Class had the pleasure of visiting Roscommon Arts Centre for the Lollipops Children's Festival. We enjoyed The York Theatre Royal's Production 'Snow Child' by Emma Reeves.
The story is based on an old Russian folk tale , a childless couple build a little girl out of snow and miraculously she comes to life. All three of them embark on the journey of becoming a family; inevitably they discover it is not as easy as they'd hoped it would be. The play is about the challenges faced by both parents and children when a child is"different". After all every child is different in his or her own way.....
It was a very enjoyable experience and was a first visit to the theatre for some of us.
