Junior Entrepreneur Programme

This year our senior pupils are taking part in the junior entrepreneur programme. This innovative programme opens the minds of primary school pupils to the joy of entrepreneurship at a time in their lives when they are full of imagination and open to new possibilities. The programme helps participating pupils to develop a number of skills including literacy, writing, presentation, drawing, technology, research skills, numeracy, financial, consumer awareness, storytelling, listening skills, creative thinking, problem solving, team building and collaboration skills.

The programme has a significant personal development impact on participating pupils, building confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem, and an appreciation of individual skills and talents.

The pupils divided themselves into six groups, working together on very  interesting projects. We had a great afternoon on 14th January when the six groups came to pitch their ideas to the Dragons. They all did a great job as they presented their projects.

After their presentations each of the groups were questioned by the Dragons on their costings, market research and on their ability to make a profit from developing their product.  
One idea was then chosen and all the students came together then to develop the product, market it,  and work together to ensure the project will be a success. Thank you to all the students for their presentations and to our Dragons. Thank you also to Martin Hopkins an local business man who came to speak to the students.
